Q: After an extraction, does ActCel need to be removed after the bleeding has stopped? A: No ActCel can safely be left in socket and kept in place by suturing with interrupted (in papillae), mattress, or cross suture to better cover and protect the Hemostatic Gauze. ActCel will dissolve over a 1 to 2 week period.
Q: Does this product contain cotton? A: No, that is a misprint on our original packaging. ActCel is made from Cotton Cellulose (Regenerated Cellulose). The cotton fabric is chemically treated and therefore the product will completely break down into a gel state (glucose-saline).
