Although the gauze is mainly used in extraction procedures, ActCel has performed extremely well in a vast array of dental procedures including the procedures (Listed Below):

DENTAL INDICATIONS:
• Extraction sockets
• Dry socket prevention

ActCel hemostatic gauze, created from regenerated cellulose, is an effective hemostatic agent. Upon contact with blood, ActCel gauze instantly converts to a collagen like gel which expands to cause direct pressure on blood vessels and control bleeding. Hemostatic Gauze is water-soluble and the gel can be removed easily when water, saline or hydrogen peroxide is applied.

Patients on medications that increase bleeding:
Aspirin, NSAIDs, anticoagulants, anticancer medication, broad-spectrum antibiotics

Patients with bleeding disorders:
Sclerosis of the liver, hemophilia, Von Willebrand’s disease, thrombocytopenia, disseminated intravascular coagulation, hypoprothrombinemia
