ACTCEL 2x2 HEMOSTATIC GAUZE
The 2x2 gauze is best used to stop bleeding for the following conditions:
• Small cuts and abrasions
• Superficial lacerations
• Wound and clot protection
• Arterial Bleeds
• Nose Bleeds
• Punctures
The ActCel 2x2 Gauze is extremely versatile in it's use. Although ActCel can be used in any bleeding situation, the 2x2 size has been widely used in the dental industry to control bleeding under particular dental procedures (Listed below):
• Extraction sockets
• Dry socket prevention
• Orthognathic surgery, Trauma, Biopsies
• Periodontal surgery
• Endodontic surgery
• Other oral surgery procedures
Patients on medications that increase bleeding:
Aspirin, NSAIDs, anticoagulants, anticancer
medication, broad-spectrum antibiotics
Patients with bleeding disorders:
Sclerosis of the liver, hemophilia, Von Willebrand’s
disease, thrombocytopenia, disseminated intravascular
coagulation, hypoprothrombinemia
